Let me share with you the dog dilemma we experienced in the White house recently. Now there is 3 of them, “Kabous” - Zel en Heino’s feisty king of the jungle Pomeranian, “Bella” – Myke and Hon’s Bitchy Bella Bee Spaniel… and “Snoekie” – mommies independent little lapdog poodle… Together they are the 3 musketeers.
After much debate we decided that with the wonderful warm weather starting after winter it is time for the musketeers to visit our local doggy parlor “Le York”. We have become locals at what Zel calls the Paris Hilton parlor (because of the ridiculous doggy attire they sell); none the less they conveniently just around the corner and treat our kids like kings. The reason for the frequent visits is due to Snoekie’s milk white fur that doesn’t stay that way for long and Bella’s knack to get everything and anything stuck in the curly fur of her legs.
So off we go, our order was as follows Kabous – a lion mane type shave, not too close, Bella – trim the fur around the legs, and an American cut for Spaniels was recommended but I declined, for Snoekie we had a choice between a summer or winter cut – whatever…. An hour later Zellie and I go pick them up, Snoekie is the best of I would say, just plain shaved but looking a bit funny with fur on just her head and tail, Bella has all the teddy bear fur shaved of her back and her cheeks and ears were cut in such a way that I cant explain better as to say my dog now has a mullet and looks like she got lost and landed up in the wrong neighborhood. Kabous is a tear subject, Heino wasn’t very happy with our doings, they shaved him from the middle of his body to the back with his fountain of a tail left as is, he looks like he lost his trousers to be honest and maybe with a tad of gay added to that.
Needles to say after the whole escapade we have come to the conclusion that “Le York” might be good for a bath but when it comes to getting our pooches shaved we are seriously in need of someone else’s services. I get that “Yorkies aren’t pets, there a lifestyle” but we sure not trimming our pets for aesthetic reasons, shaving them is about not getting dirty and staying cool in summer not about bushy tails and mullets thank you very much.
On a different note I would just like to add “No we are not sad and I probably have a lot of other things to write on the blog”, since my last blog mom has planned a trip to Mozambique for December, Big Man has broken his arm, and the parents are somewhere of in Alaska on their 1st ever holiday with no kids. But I though I would get back into it with some light reading at first seeing that we are expecting some very exciting emails (to be blogged on order) from my parents soon that will be updating us on their grand trip. The laptop went with on the trip so mommy can teach Buddy how to send email, they very BC (Before cell phones, calculators, and condoms – hence all the kids)… But hopefully Buddy gets the hang of it once mommy has showed him where to find the “On” button. They’re gone for almost 3 weeks so we expecting Buddy to come back fully educated – hopefully.
