UpDaTe...

So much as happened in the last few weeks I am sure to forget to mentions something in this post….

Mich said to me the other day “cant we just have one normal week” and with that I can assure you she is not exaggerating… Between Zellie crashing her car, sisters coming to visit, me moving out the house and dads 60th coming up next week there has hardly been time to touch base (let alone blog)…

So Zellie crashed her car, nothing serious just a lack of abs breaks is what I call it, all sorted out and last weeks news, or was it 2 weeks ago?

With dads big day being so close to the end of the year and with everyone entering the silly season we decided to move the celebrations a little earlier as to accommodate everyone’s busy schedules… Muis and Johan flew up from Durban last week Friday (dads bday is only next week Wednesday).. Zellie and I went to go pick them up at the airport. One of their friends happened to fly along and stuck at the airport Keg we get. Needles to say they only woke dad up at midnight with their surprise visit when we eventually got home…

Up at the break of dawn on Saturday morning, I go to my parents place – oh I have moved out the house in the meantime, but just around the block ha ha so be sure to stay updated with the news – anyway – the pipe band arrived at 6am to wake dad up with their melodies… Yes BAND…. Last year we got one guy with his bag pipes to come make a noise below dad’s window this year we needed to top that and do so in a big way as it is the big 6 0…. So with Rykie and hon as the choreographers and the rest of the family inside the house we manage to get dad to the front door without suspicion and dressed in more than his jocks… Down the road our 7 band members start marching, coming to a halt at the front door with happy birthday… Dad was in awe, I think he really loved it… Being Scottish and all…

The rest of the weekend was filled with big cook up breakfasts and late nights out… Cake and the lot…. As always the White house birthday tradition prevails and we still need to sing for him on the big day…

Sneak peek… We are working on a very special gift for dads birthday and I just want to thank everyone for their input and contributions… Zellie has started to think that I am pregnant because of how emotional I get every time we work on the project… All lies…  It is just so beautiful to experience the vast amount of unconditional love in our sometimes dysfunctional family…
